Why We Built This Site
Illinois provides several ways to obtain criminal history information, but no single office keeps every layer. The Bond County Sheriff holds sheriff reports and county booking information. The Circuit Clerk in Greenville keeps filed criminal cases and dispositions. The Illinois State Police Bureau of Identification maintains the state repository and operates CHIRP for public conviction inquiries. State custody records belong to the Illinois Department of Corrections, while I-SORT serves the public registry. Bringing those official routes, fees, and contacts into one reference makes it easier to start with the proper custodian.
